Fresh Pair of DMVs x Hollagraphy x Lyriciss

The other day i was on freshpairofdmvs.com and seen one of my pics I took of DMV rapper Lyriciss Flowz on there. It was a lil article and an available download for his mixtape. Thought that was cool enough to post lol. I still do it for my home. #DMV (DC, Maryland & Virginia).

Lyriciss x Mag Dollars x Holla = Do it For DMV

When I was home in the DMV for the holidays I got the chance to do a shoot with 2 DMV music artists...Lyriciss Flowz and Magnum Dollars. Originally, the shoot was planned to be for more than just the 2 DMV but to include as many of the DMV artists, producers and people putting on for the area in general...just something for DMV unity. Something just to have fun and bring us all together, especially since I don't get the chance to go home much. I hit up different people on facebook and posted several Tweets on twitter about it 2 months in advance. The only ones who came thru was these 2 but no love lost...we made it happen. Also shout out to Southeast Slim because he did let me know that he wouldn't be able to make it. But there is always next time. The shoot came out real good. We didn't have much time especially due to the holidays. It was cold as hell outside lol but we still had fun while doing it.

Make sure you check out both artists!

The Day Job x Lyriciss x Progression

Haven't blogged in a good minute...this job has been really taking up a lot of my time. Getting more money now but making less moves and its not in my field at all; thats not something that I actually like. Really thinking about quitting and going back to the way I use to do things. Taking a step back oddly seems like I'll be taking a step forward by doing so. Less money but more moves being made...you never know, a major opportunity may open up, but we'll see. I'm just riding everything out right now...doing what I can and still applying for design jobs. Recently was turned down for the graphic designer position in Nashville with the Gaylord Opryland Hotels. They offer a lot of Quality in there business. I was really looking forward to that, it kinda made me mad that i didn't get it, real discouraging. I try hard and work hard but still can't get anything. Its been like 9-10 months since graduation, and I feel as though I am moving backwards. Its kinda been putting me in a position where I'm not necessarily losing my focus, but more of losing my assurance of where I wanna be. Atlanta was the original plan, but I have priorities and gotta handle what I gotta handle. An obstacle was thrown my way so that plan was postponed. Lately, I have been looking into a lot of graphic design jobs in the DMV area. I honestly wanna be back home but don't wanna deal with the cost of living. Most of the time I feel like giving up, but the people around me know me a lot better than that. I couldn't stop grindin even if I was paid to stop grindin lol. So no matter where my path leads me, I'm gonna work for whatever I get. And I'm gonna get to where ever the Lord takes me.

What's Poppin in the DMV?

Normally, I would speak on the homie Wale, Marky or Southeast Slim. But I gotta give it up to the homie Lyriciss. I been riding with him from the beginning, and he has been supporting me and my work as well for a long time. He has been showing a lot of progression on every track I hear. I was actually a lil late on listening to his previous mixtape "The Day Job", and normally I'm never known for being late when it comes to music (especially music back home in the DMV). Dude doing his thing though, I been crankin his tracks since he was known as Young L. He was featured on Version 3: Holla University of my website (www.hollafashions.com). So if yall get a chance, make sure you download "The Day Job". It is worth the listen. Keep doing the damn thing for the area homie, I got u all the way! And I haven't forgot bout those tees lol, I even put it on the blog!

Whats New...

I've been doing some design & photography work here and there lately but I just haven't been posting much. Guess I'll post a few when the time is right. But right now, I'm just chillin, getting myself a bit more organized and getting back on track. I got a lot of ideas in my head and I'm gonna post things the right way to keep that buzz going. You can expect to see a few more youtube vids from me in the future. Also been doing a lot of photography for the local parties at the clubs in the area, so shout out to FAME promotions & The Connect...Twon, Tay & Marlon grindin hard doing there thing throwing some of the biggest and best parties in the area.

Check the lil ad...a simple HF ad for a spot in my boy Tyrone's mini mag he will be releasing. (Brightwood Entertainment).

Version 6 of my website has briefly been in my thoughts. I'm not worried about the design of it, but I am more focused on the creative representation behind it, as well as the quality of the presentation. Something will come together sometime soon when I get time to sit down and plan it out. Not gonna speak too much on that because thats a good lil while from now.

I also was recently able to order some more photography equipment. Ordered the photo lighting (with umbrellas), black/white Backdrops with the stand and carrying case and a new Flash (yea i broke like 2 of them joints already lol). But I'm milking this wack job for what its worth. Using my checks to make more cash in the future. I'm looking to get another camera lens or a new cam, haven't decided just yet what I want to do first. But I've trained myself not to window shop, so I'll decided when the money is in my account.

Other than that, I just been looking to stay fresh lately. Back on my kick game and just picked up a new "W" fitted the other day. I'm gonna try to grab them in every color with the matching watches....throw some chucks in there too lol.

These are a couple I seen online that go ji-hard:

DMV: WE UP NEXT!

A while back I made a lil mix for the first time in Garageband of the different artists in the DMV (my home of course..). Well now I feel is the right time to post it. I've been supporting the artists at home since day one, and now we are really seeing Major process from each of them. But in order for something to last it needs to be supported by the people/fans. Some of the artists I don't know, some I'm cool with, and some are my actual friends...I'm gonna support them no matter what because I want to see my city rise cuz honestly...there are more people in the area that hate rather than show the support of someone trying to do something positive. I wasn't able to fit everyone on here that I wanted to....KayeM, Ra the MC, EMP, and others to name a few...but dont think that I forgot about yall. I'll get yall on the next go round. Oh yea and shout out to Kayem and Delonte West for that funny ass KFC vid...that joint had me ROLLIN all night. But yea, when you check out the video just make sure you let people know about the artists in the area if they don't, pass the link around, tell them about my site and all that good stuff...you know what it is lol. DMV! WE UP NEXT!

DMV x MM7

Up late once again, been grindin all day long since 6am...fell asleep about 9pm or so and work up about 1am...so I'm back at it again. But I realized all the work I have to do is finished lol. Damn its just in my blood to be doing something...so I guess I'll blog. Oh yea, and I'm still gonna post that lil DMV mix that I made in garageband real soon. I'm no producer but I just wanted to put something together to be a major participant on putting my city on the map, and no one can take that away from me. So the snippet mix will just be something to let out-of-towners know about the diamonds in the dirt. The mix consist of Wale, Lyriciss, Magnum Dollars, AB the Producer, Southeast Slim, Marky, Nando Mcfly, Trey Songz, Raheem Devaughn, Tabi Bonney, Uptown XO, Proverb, and Mambo Sauce. I wanted to fit more people on it, but I think thats enough for now because unfortunately Youtube only allows 10minutes. So if I decide to do another I will be sure to include a lot of other artists out of the DMV. I'm not really worried about how many views/listens I get, though still push it. I just want to do something to support the ones who work just as hard as me because they deserve it. DC, Maryland & Virginia's time is coming real soon, and when it does...it will change the face of music...I PROMISE! (Anyone that is around me all the time know that for a fact cuz I have put many on to more than just Wale).

Moving on to one of my favorite rappers...Chamillionaire.
Some people may not like it, but dude is in my top 5 DOA list. I been a fan since '98 (thats since I was like 13 years old, so basically going on 11years. He grinds like no other and the style is vicious. Recently, I downloaded Mixtape Messiah 7 disc 1 & 2. I'm waiting on the 3rd disc to be released. This is prolly his best body of work that I have heard thus far. Disc 1 has 26 tracks and he goes IN! From lyrics to flow to the harmony. He murders every track. I was def feeling disc 2 also for the fact that on disc 2...he went back to the old King Koopa. To his flow he used before it was "Chamillionaire"...when it was just "Chamillion". So I'm kinda anxious to hear disc 3. Sucks that this will be the last of the Mixtape Messiah series, but just like me...he is trying to go a different route and continue to set trends and be innovative. He will continue with a new series of mixtapes called "Major Payne" but the difference between this series and all other mixtapes is that all songs from now on will be all original. Basically, the mixtapes will all be put together like an actual album (original beats, verses, etc). Just something to give me more motivation and inspiration to spark my grind when I'm tired. Chamillitary Mayne!

Oh yea...and for the record...
MY Top 5 consist of:

Jay-Z, Chamillionaire, Wale, Joe Budden, & ______(you know the 5th spot is open for rotation).

And thats just MY favorites of all time.
